ASG Metal Separator Machine
Why is a Metal Separator Machine Necessary?
During the production process, small metal fragments mixed into the plastic can cause blockages, damage the screw barrel, and even become embedded in the final product—leading to serious defects. In some cases, entire batches of finished products must be recalled to address the consequences.
Normally, to detect ferrous metals mixed into plastic, the common method is to use high-powered magnets (Neodymium Magnets), which have very strong magnetic force. However, since the plastic is usually preheated, the high temperature can reduce the magnetic strength. Additionally, for non-magnetic metals, magnets are ineffective and cannot detect or remove them.
The ASG metal separator can detect metallic contaminants such as Fe, Cu, Al, SUS, and more.

1. Structure of the Metal Separator Machine
- The machine includes a plastic feed tube that allows material to flow freely by gravity from top to bottom. Surrounding the feed tube is an electromagnetic sensing device that detects the presence of metal contaminants as the material passes through.
- The operating principle of the machine is based on electromagnetic induction. It consists of a transmitting coil that emits electrical pulses and a receiving coil that detects those pulses. When a metal object passes through, it disturbs the electromagnetic field generated by the transmitting coil, causing an unstable signal in the receiving coil. The machine’s software then analyzes this signal disturbance to determine whether metal is present. If metal is detected, the system activates a valve that diverts the plastic flow from the normal path to a separate channel, isolating the contaminated material.
- Because the operating principle is based on electromagnetic induction, the machine can detect not only ferrous metals but also non-magnetic metals such as Fe, Cu, Al, SUS, and others. This allows for comprehensive metal detection, including materials that cannot be identified by conventional magnets.
